Weird noise whenever suspension is engaged and squeaky tire.

I have a stock 2009 2 door sport. I recently went 4x4ing in the mountains. It all was going good until there was this string of mud puddles i went through. I wanted to get really muddy so i hit them going kind fast maybe 20 or 30 mph. It was kinda rocky. After that, i noticed that whenever i would go over a bump or the suspension was engaged on the front driver side (i think that is where it is coming form) it would make a knocking sound like it was hitting something solid or something was loose. Also, i noticed later that on the right side there was a slight wheel squeak, sounding like something needed to be oiled. Also when i was driving back my engine started to over heat in towns or when i was going less then 40. When i looked under the hood there was massive amounts of mud. After i thoroughly cleaned the under carriage and the engine housing this hasn't happened again although the wheel sounds persist. Could i have possible knocked something lose while 4x4ing or could there be a rock or something stuck up there? P

My money is on the brakes just makeing a little noise. I would make sure there is no dirt or mud around the calaper/roter.

X2 if its not that then check your wheel bearing

That might be what is causing my right wheel to squeak but do you think that is also the source of the sound I hear when I go over bumps? Im no mechanic and I know little about cars but when i looked under my jeep the only thing i noticed that could possible be causing the sound is that on the left side, the shock is shifted slightly to the left in the housing so it is not perfectly centered like on the other side. Im not sure if this could be the source of the noise or it was like that because it was on a little bit of an incline.

It could be that or debris in the control arm or trackbar bushing

Is the ride rougher?

No, i notice no difference in the ride or cushion, it all feels the same there is just a bad sound.

Then I doubt its the shock because if it was squeaking then you prob. would have blown it (happend to me in June:banghead: ). I'd look at all you CA bushings
