Installed Level 8 ZX today **Pics**

I ordered five(5) Level 8 ZX 17x9 -12mm from Discount Tire Direct and it only took two days!

Well of course when they showed up I couldn't wait so I ran down to a brand new store local to me. Store number MM24 and met Doug who I talked to on the phone yesterday. I informed Doug about the wheels I purchased and how I planned on keeping the stock tires on for now.

When he saw the Jeep come in, he already knew what I was there for and met me at the counter with a smile. Another gentlemen tried to interrupt and up sell me on some tires which I mentioned I was not interested. He continued but Doug chimed in and tactfully shut him down.

Other than that everything went pretty smooth, just like all my visits to Discount Tire. Doug did inform me that one of the wheels came out of the box scratched and had me inspect it for a return. They caught this even before mounting a tire, I'm sure I would have missed it. No big deal, Doug handled everything before I could even ask what is the next step. :thumb:

Ok done talking here are the pictures.....

I'm very pleased with the way it turned out, just need bigger tires!

Thanks to everyone on WF for sharing their experiences and rigs. DTD thanks for not just acting like salesmen looking for your next profit, but for being enthusiasts like we all are.

Hope you enjoyed!

I have 235-65-17 on my sport where can i go to get 255-75-17 ..do i have to o to dealer .....sugestions

Skalve85 08-22-2012 08:25 PM

Well that is the stock tire size on a rubicon. I would never go to the dealer. If I were you I would get on Craigslist and look for rubicon tires they will be cheap compared to buying new wheels and tires.

Are those tires the 285/70/17? And did you put on a leveling kit? Still a lot of room under the fenders. Looks really good.

No leveling kit, stock set up. Rubicon come with stock wheel size of 255/75/17 these tires are at the max for a 17x9 wheel. I think it would look 10 times better with tires that filled it out better than what is on it now. If I kept the fenders stock I would go with 285 or 295 tires but if I trim them then I would go 35's or really close to it.

Thanks,

Steve

Those narrow 255 series tires are screaming for help on those 9" wide wheels. Eek.. But I agree the wheels look awesome. Thank you for the good pictures.

I know I feel it almost looks like a low rider with the way the tires fit on the wheels, can't wait until these are gone, hard choice is the nitto trail grapplers which I use to have on my heavy cummins truck, which would probably be to rough on the jeep or the GY duratracs! I like the nittos size selection way better. Oh well I have time.
