What would be the pro's cons if any?

I can't decide weather to go with 15x8 or 15x10 with 33 12.50 tires. What would be the pro's and cons if any. Plus what is the minimum amount of backspace recomended?

Thanks

i like 10" wide, has a nice stance. guys will say the real off roaders run 8 cuz the bead stays sealed under lower pressure. this is true, but i ran what you're talking about w/ 10 wheel, aired to 9psi, and never lost a bead.

What size tires are you planning on running? 33s? 35s? 12.5" wide?.. etc.. this will all depend on what bs you need.

Ripcord 05-04-2008 01:05 PM

33

you're gonna want 3.75 Backspacing or 4 is ok

as for width, i like the look of really fat tires, how they come off of the rim, but it is all about the looks basicly, unless you air down to 5-10 PSI regularly

A mind is a terrible thing to waste!

I see late on the trigger............again

Triple88a 05-04-2008 01:08 PM

lol whoops

4" bs or less

A tire will be a little taller on a narrower wheel. My 33" trXus on an 8' wheel measures a true 33 mounted. On a 10" wheel it will be closer to 32"

mrbigjeep 05-04-2008 01:40 PM

i would definitely run a 8" wide wheel. it will hold the bead better and is cheaper.

unless you plan on going to 13.50's (or wider) eventually then i would get the 15x8. my buddy has a YJ with 15x10's and 12.50's and they stick waaay out.

yeah im worried about the depth too. I don't want the centers real deep. Plus im thinking about going with the Dick Cepek DC1's and I think it would look well you know too blingy. They only have 3.65 backspacing is the larger the backspacing the better or is it the other way around.

mrbigjeep 05-04-2008 02:10 PM

less backspacing will make the tires stick out farther. more backspacing will tuck them under more.

with less backspacing there will be a little more wear on certain parts but i doubt its anything noticeable (a lot of wheels are 3.75" anyway)

3.65" is perfectly fine

those dc1s look great on a jeep with 33s..

i know its not a great pic.. but the red jeep on the left with the xennon flat fenders (6'' wide) runs the dc1s..

I have the Eagle Alloy look-a-likes. Mine have 3.25" back spacing and they look great.

They can be had for ~$100/each at most places.
