Advice for switching 17" wheels for 15"

I have just purchased my first Jeep. It is a 2006 SE. It has a 2" lift and 17" Radd RD18 wheels with 275 60R17 tires. I want to go to a 15" wheel with 31 10.5R15 or 32 11.5R15. This novice would appreciate any advice. Thanks

hey and welcome. you're on the right track. either size will fit, you'll probably want a 15x8 wheel, or 15x10 if you want the tires to stick out more. i'd personally go w/ 31" unless you want to get a little more lift soon.

good luck, let us know what you find. got pics??

IMO 15x10 is too wide for 31x10.5 or 32x11.5. better go with a 15x8 wheel.

if you donīt disconnect the sway bar 32s are ok with 2" of lift. add a 1-2" BL to avoid rubbing if you want to disconnect the sway bar.

ya, 10" wide is a little stretch for that size. but it happens. i agree 8" is better

Heck I'm running 13.5" width on an 8" wheel and I think it's perfect.

One of the other advantages to the 15" wheel over the 17" is the price of the tires. Tires in the 17" range are stupid expensive compared to the 15's.

Another is more sidewall so you can air down more for better traction. Another one is the 15" rims just look great with a big ball of tire around it when on the right vehicle.

i agree.. the smaller the rim, the bigger the tire looks

15'' rims look great wrapped with 33s or 35s

with 2'' of lift you can fit 32s

i ran my jeep stock for 7 years with 31s
