Military Guys - Post your rig and specs!!!

Since we have a bunch of military guys on the forum I thought it would be nice to see what you guys have built on the lowly government pay. :D

Post up pics and specs. :punk:

I guess I'll be the first.

Well here's my baby.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2304/...04f74883f3.jpg

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3014/...e2aab89c64.jpg

And here's her stats.

1994 YJ with a mildly built Chevy 350. The engine has bored .030" over with 10:1 pistons a 3 angle valve job, Edelbrock Performer Intake and a Carter AFB 625CFM 4 barrel carb, a Crane 350HP blueprint cam, and an HEI dizzy. The tranny is an SM465 and a custom NP 231J/C HD t-case sits behind that with a SYE and a Tom Woods CV drive shaft. There is an Advance Adapters tranny adapter between the tranny and t-case. The exhaust is just straight pipes with cherry bombs on the end dumped under the rear seat.

The axles are stock Dana 30/35(3.07:1 gears) with Skyjacker Hydro dual steering stabilizers up front. I also put on a JB4x4 high steer kit. The tires are Super Swamper TSL 38.5x16x15 on Cragar Soft 8(Black) 15x10 wheels(soon to be Super Swamper Trxus MT 37x12.50x15's)

It has been painted(by me) Caterpillar Yellow and soon...very soon it will have some Caterpillar decals.

The suspension is spring over axle with bastard 7 leaf spring packs (built by me and distortedtj) front and rear which added 3". A 1" Daystar body lift/body bushing kit with 1.5" spacer. It has a 1" Con-Ferr Shackle lift. When you add all these together you get 1 foot of lift. I did a tummy tuck and made my own custom crossmember. It also has Energy Suspension poly bushings, and swaybar quick disconnects and no trac bars.

For recovery I have a Chicago Electric 8000lb winch and a hood mounted High Lift jack. I built a custom dash with Autometer Phantom gauges and the jeep has been converted to combat start(a military thing which means no keys just flip a switch and drive).

The frame and tub have been completely herculined. It has/will have Smitty Built cut-out fender flares. There are also some Warn Rock Sliders on the sides and a custom "made by me" front bumper and soon a matching rear bumper. The tail lights have been frenched. It makes it sooo much easier to get a gas can in there.

I have a Rugged Ridge factory replacement soft top with tinted windows.

It also has a Tuffy overhead console with a Pioneer DEH-P7300 and a Radio Shack Po Po Scanner. The dash has a Robyn 23 channel CB with upper and lower sideband and built in SWR meter.

And a ton of blood, sweat, and tears.

Keep em coming. :wavey:

MoA 05-07-2008 10:46 PM

when u snap your d35 do you plan on going full width? or upgrading just the rear? or what?

btw thats definitely my FAVORITE yj =p

hurry up and finish the front fenders so i can save the pic of it

Coyote_94YJ 05-07-2008 11:01 PM

I'm thinking D44/60 or rockwell x2. I'm waitin for fallenmotoangel to send me some parts so I can finish the front fenders. THEN you can have your pic. Just don't tell me what you do with them!!!

Coyote_94YJ 05-07-2008 11:02 PM

4point...is that avatar a self portrait?

MoA 05-07-2008 11:03 PM

heh =p

theres a set rockwells for sale half an hour from me for 700.. WAY to big for me..

your jeep is gonna look awesome with full widths

im going to do a soa on a buddies yj this summer.. im trying to talk him into actually building it right.. hes retarded and thinks he can build most of his own suspension parts.. ill NEVER ride in his jeep.. im no mechanic but the work ive done on it so far is the only quality work ever done to his jeep (i swapped his junkd d35 for a new one and swapped his tc for a new one)

Coyote_94YJ 05-07-2008 11:07 PM

If I go rockwells I think I might go airbrakes. Dunno....I got more research to do on that. The top load would fix a few issues I have. 1ft of lift and a tummy tuck isn't nice to driveshafts

EDIT:

It's certainly not from a lack of motivation, that's for sure!!

Cast comes off on the 22nd. Then I go into a walking boot. Roughly a week to ten days after that I should be able to put weight on that leg. Then it's on like Donkey Kong!!! I figure a weekend should be all it takes. The Humvee taillights and the buckets will have to wait til later this summer. They aren't too high on my priority list right now.....

MoA 05-08-2008 10:01 PM

cant wait to see it..

you can take a trip over to indiana and help me install my garage full of goodies too =D

Yeah you should be able to knock that out in a weekend if you're able to move around. If I were close by I would could help even though I don't have a clue how to put a lift on. I hold a flashlight really well. :D:D:D

Seriously though, thanks for doing what you do so I can do what I do. Too bad it's sit on this damn forum all day and make fun of people. :D
