I have a 99 sahara 3" Tereflex lift 33-12.50 67,000 miles. It first began at a slow speed, sharp turn, no performance issues but a weeo, weeo, noise unitl I would straighten the wheel. It has gotten much worse. Power steering fluid is normal, new rancho stabalizer. Now the noise starts when the wheel is half way cranked. Could it be the pump? Broken gears? Everything is tight. Any replies would be great.

Belt or pump would be my guess. Is it only when the pump is (loaded) working to assist in steering?

It happens at low speeds when the wheel is half to fully turned eithor direction. So I guess yes it is working harder when moving slower.

Could be the pump - when was the last time you flushed out the fluid and replaced it with some fresh PS steering fluid?

i had a problem with that in my old truck, if you were going slow and had the windows down you could hear it whine right up when you were taking a corner slow, after replacement the ole F-150 drove like a .....well an F-150 with a new steering pump still rides like hell
