Hoist under $100

Built this hoist in about 2-3 hours. All materials were purchased at Lowes. Allows for adjustments in case you have multiple Jeeps with different hard top sizes.

Here is a rough version of the parts list. Some of the sizes may vary, but you can really use whatever size you would like on any of the parts as long as they fit.

Parts List for Hoist

- Swivel pulley (x5)
- 2’ or 3’ slotted angle (x4)
- 1 - 2” lag bolts (x14)
- 3/8” steel cable (Length depends on distance from ceiling. I used about 30 feet.)
- 1/4” chain quick link (x4)
- 1/4” chain rope clip (x6)
- ladder hooks (x4)
- random piece of wood
- L shaped mounting brackets (x2)
- hand winch

The Harken hoist was going to be my first option but didn't trust those tiny ropes. Which is the main reason I built mine from scratch using steel cable. Hope it works well for you though.

Yeah i only have a JK so the top is maybe 60lbs, the ropes are actually pretty good like those climbers ropes. Pretty coool u had the know how to set all that up. Good luck.
