Firestone Destination M/T's

Anybody own the Firestone Destination M/T's? I was looking at them online and they look pretty nice. I also read some reviews but wanted to know if anybody here liked them or have heard anything about them.

The only thing that i know is that Firestone had a very bad reputation.

Bad reputation due to car's accidents that accured in 2000. i guess you know the whole story that mixed Ford too.

ya, i worked for a couple firestone dealers, it was more fords fault, but firestone took the hit. now ford has trouble getting oe tire manufactureres. now they're using korean tires on half their vehicles.

they make Goodyear in Korea?

ford has a contract w/ hankook that makes about half their oe tires now. hankook makes ok aftermarket replacement tires. but the tires goin on fords original equipment has sucked. no one wants to be involved after they hung firestone out to dry. thats what all the firestone dealers say anyway.

i have destination L/Es on my work van and have been very pleased with them so far. My brother runs the M/T's on a Durango and loves them. Tried to get some for my Ruby but they don't have the 245/75-16 in stock, so I opted for Dayton which has almost the same tread pattern. I don't have my lift yet so I have to stick with the stock size tire for a little bit, anything bigger an d I'll rip my fenders off when in full flex.

I checked one online retailer that sells Firestone, BF Goodrich and Goodyear. Comparing three mud tires (31 x 10.5), you could get a set of Mud-Terrains for $32 more and a set of MTR's for $84 more...both of which are a lot better than Firestone's I think. I've run all three brands.
