Death wobble advice, specific situation
Hey there, my name's Max.
2009 Sahara Unlimited, factory standard, so far as I know.
I live in subarctic Canada (specifically, here: chisasibi, qc - Google Maps
) and make a 2,000km drive six times a year (Sussex, NB to Chisasibi, QC - Google Maps
). There are two mechanics closeby. They are by all accounts competent, but most likely NOT Jeep experts. Furthermore, the better of the two probably speaks only French. I can have someone translate though. My personal knowledge of cars is too limited to DIY.
My vehicle has death wobble. Experienced it 10+ times on the way up. NOT bumpsteer. Pull over and stop was the only solution. Can't top 80km without shaking.
My proposed solution:
Order the KOR Death Wobble Cure (JK Wrangler Death Wobble (2007+) : KevinsOffRoad.com, Hard-KOR Jeep Accessories for Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Commander, Liberty, and Cherokee
). It's designed for lifted vehicles but I don't want to lift the vehicle at the moment. Lifting seems impractical for the ratio of highway driving to offroading I do. Also, I can't afford it just yet. Rather, Kevin e-mailed me a number of in-a-pinch solutions for installing the kit on a factory Jeep. I want to buy the kit and have it installed by a mechanic.
Does anything about this sound off? Is there a better solution for fixing the wobble in a factory vehicle? All advice appreciated. If you have something to sell me... don't be too shameless lol...
