I just spent a fortune on getting a new clutch and new input shaft installed... And after a week of driving the new clutch/input shaft, i started my jeep up one morning and there is a slight squealing noise. The squealing noise will go away once I put a little bit of pressure on the clutch pedal. I talked to the mechanic who did the work and he doesnt have any idea. I REALLY want to avoid taking it back. Any ideas what it could be? did they mess up? can it be fixed easily? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Pilot bearing possibly.

Pilot bearing or release bearing. Either can make a noise that will go away/change when the pedal is depressed/released. Were these replaced when the clutch was installed?

I don't think they did, I requested a new clutch kit. Should they have changed out those parts?

Should have but the probably didn't from what you are describing.

That's a bummer. Is there any possible damage that can come from it being bad?

A lot of kits come with the pilot & throwout bearing so there's a chance they were replaced.
