Long Pond Conservation Easement - NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation

http://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/lands_for...gpondcemap.pdf

Found this site while driving up to college.
Never know what your gonna find until ya open up your eyes! My friend and i spent about an hour on these trails and never came to the end of one... They seem to just keep branching out.
Anyone got any other info on these trails?

It looks like maybe a three hour drive from Cortland, looks like there is plenty of camping room too! will look for some fishing spots.

Cortland huh? I finishing up school there this semester.

Interested in checking these trails out, but easily a 6 hour drive from back at home so we will see.

I just camped here this weekend, pretty nice area. I took number 8 road to number 12( long pond road) where the wife and I set up at the campsite. Roads in are unforgiving, rough and washed out. We went in roughly 10 miles and it took at least an hour and a half. Nice place, not a place I'll bother going back to.

Attached the only pics I have that isn't a panoramic of the area lol.

Anyone else try these out? Wondering how they made out.

I used to drive in there a lot before the state got it. They're just plain old dirt roads, maintained fairly well at the time by the timber company. At that time only the timber company, loggers, and leased private club members used them except for snowmobiling season.

All in all, not challenging, might be nice just to get away from the main roads and camp and hit a trout stream. Some nice copper colored water with trout up there.
