JeepWrangler4x4 09-23-2012 05:11 AM

Looks so much better then the stock trailer lights haha just upgraded to semi trailer lights

Pipp88 09-23-2012 05:14 AM

Ok u have to give more info than that. What kind, how much, where u got them from. Also the small white light ??

JeepWrangler4x4 09-23-2012 05:27 AM

Well the red ones are just 4 inch led trailer lights can pick up from any semi trailer service place, i ordered mine at work cuz i work on semi trailers, the white are the reverse lights and just 2 inch LED i got them at superbrightleds.com im sure you could prolly get the 4inch red ones there, didnt cost very much think all together maybe spent like $50 on lights and $20 on new flasher relay to suppose the led flashers

anything else you wanna know?

How does the wiring work? Is it plug and play or do you need to do something else? Im a newbie at this.

JeepWrangler4x4 09-23-2012 05:45 AM

lights are simple... 3 wires for stop and turn lights and 2 wires for rev lights,
stop lights have 2 hot wires and a ground, and rev lights have 1 hot and 1 ground, with the stock lights the ground is right threw where the light connects to the tub so i just got some self tappers and screwed it in some where. i cut the plugs off my stock lights btw nd spliced them in for the new ones

And you got a flasher relay? That goes in the relay box?

JeepWrangler4x4 09-23-2012 06:03 AM

no its under the steering column

i believe the one i got to replace it was a EP-27 for a 1997 wrangler sport, if you have trouble finding it just turn your blinker on and find the clicking

LouieDelTorchio 09-23-2012 06:07 AM

Thanks buddy! Looks great by the way. Im thinking of doing this just like yours.

JeepWrangler4x4 09-23-2012 06:27 AM

I would like to see this if you get the chance. I need a light for my plate and haven't decided which route to go.

JeepWrangler4x4 09-23-2012 04:44 PM

panic1780 09-23-2012 05:31 PM

Love tha flush mounts, wanna put those in mine but scared to commit cutting tha holes

JeepWrangler4x4 09-23-2012 09:37 PM

Lmao i know what you mean, i had each corner tapped off completely and circles drawn for the the lights and sat there and looked at it and kept moving them around for a few hours on and off before i cut the holes, sorry didnt get a chance to get a pic of the license plate light but ill get one in the morning when i get home from work, kinda passed out after i posted that last one.

panic1780 09-23-2012 09:58 PM

I'll eventually get tha nerve to do it lol

LouieDelTorchio 09-23-2012 10:34 PM

Hahaha. I dis the same thing when I installed my snorkel on my last jeep. Holding a 3" or so holesaw against the side of my jeep for ten minutes until I got the stones to do it. Scary.

BNotrab 09-24-2012 03:37 AM

Nice placement on the reverse lights! Notice any difference with them?

JeepWrangler4x4 09-24-2012 10:45 AM

its a cleaner light but i get a lot of light off the stop lights, i have a 97 wrangler sport, now that i think of it im pretty sure i got the EP-26 id have to go take it out and look tho

rbkelley89 09-24-2012 12:02 PM

Thanks. I am more interested in seeing how you wired them. I have little motorcycle plate lights but not sure how to wire them. I have a rack in my jeep which puts the license plate out a bit.

JeepWrangler4x4 09-24-2012 06:25 PM

4 inch lights require 4 1/2 hole saw and the 2 inch lights called for a 2 3/16 hole saw but i used 2 1/8 cuz i didnt have the other but it worked good. i can get those pics here in a few bout to head out to the garage once i get my coffee in me

LouieDelTorchio 09-24-2012 07:21 PM

I think ill order my tail lights soon. I found some for 8 bucks each, then ill get 2 reverse lights for 15 bucks that ill put in my rear bumper. I might also get another light for my 3rd brake light in the middle of my spare. Shouldnt be too expensive.

Ah i ripped that 3rd brake light off my jeep lol, that was the first thing to go when i bought it 3 years ago, here are the pics of the wiring and such kinda hard to see tho, but basicly I cut the plugs off the stock lights and wired them into that and made my own ground.

Here is the link for the plate light i used Pilot Automotive/White license plate LED light (CZ-224W) | LED Exterior Accessories | AutoZone.com

FYI i had to lower my stock plate bracket

:thumb: Looks really good man! I like the reverse lights.

I did mine with the rear corner guards and It really cleans up the rear of the jeep. If anyone is thinking about doing this I say go for it. Its one of my fav mods I have done.
