Warn M8000 on stock 2013 Rubi bumper?

I admit that I am a rube in the Rubi world, so please take pity. Can you install a M8000 using the stock bumper (I'm assuming a mounting bracket) or do I have to replace the bumper? Thanks for any guidance.

Yes and Warn even makes a winch mount for the stock bumper.

There are a few companies that make it. Check quadratec

It doesn't mount on the bumper-should mount to the bolts that hold the bumper to the frame. Would tear a stock bumper right off the frame if you bolted to that...

YES  when I did my winch I could not find info on such a plate untill it was too late I did not want to buy a new bumper I like the look of stock cut down into a stubby but found they do make a mounting plate and Im going to go back to stock bumper and cut it down to a stubby #1 weight is much less and you can retain your stock air dam with a little cutting good luck Joe

As others have said: You'll need a mounting plate to bolt it to, but plenty of folks have done it. Also, may need to buy a vacuum pump relocation kit (cheap, no big deal).

I've got a 2013 Rubicon and after checking with Warn they say they don't know if their plate will work on the 2013. They are waiting to hear back from the Jeep.

Has anything changed between the 12 and 13 in that area? Please let us know, I am about to order the WARN mount!

I think after 2012 you need to relocate the Break pump. While looking at the Rough Country Hybrid Stubby Bumper (Jeep JK Hybrid Stubby Bumper $230) it says you need a Brake Pump Relocation Bracket $13

It seems like it has popped up that you need to relocate it even with other bumpers/mounts.

Check with Warn first- They are not committing on 2013

There are people here who are guessing and assuming. I got it direct from Warn that they are waiting to hear back from Jeep as to whether the 2012 mounting plate will work on a 2013 or not. My dealer says it won't so I would be very careful here in assuming the stock plate will work. :banghead:

2013 Rubicon Unlimited

I also just got my 2013 Rubicon Unlimited, Called Warn tech and they say should fit, but could not promise it would. Has anyone tried it yet to verify.

I don't have a '12 to compare with, but I found out the hard way that a bumper product that has been tested to fit on a '12 does not fit on my '13. The spacing of the mounting bolts was off by about 1/2", a hole the instructions indicate would have to be drilled out was large enough in diameter, and the winch would not fit in the recessed area of the bumper because the motor of the winch sat too low and hit the end of the passenger side frame rail.

Personally I Would wait for a 100% confirmation from the manufacturer before paying for and trying to install a product.

I'm not mentioning the product by name because I am still trying to work out a resolution with the vendor.

Why would you be worried about keeping the stock air damn?
