Does liking this TJ make me a bad person?

Ive been checking autotrader and craigslist for available TJ/JK in my area. I came across this Rubicon and really like it. Should I be shot?

Skyjacker 4" suspension lift, 33" Super Swamper Iroks, 20" Rockstar wheels.

Jerry Bransford 06-04-2008 03:18 PM

Those wheels & tires make it look pretty ghey to me. :p

XNeoJesterX 06-04-2008 03:27 PM

the rims wouldnt be bad if there were larger tires wrapped around them IMHO. Not my style tho.

[TheYJGuy] 06-04-2008 03:28 PM

I like the tread on the tires, I think they are LTBs, but the fact that they are low profile and are mated with bling rims makes it rather ghey.

Swap out the wheels and tires and you got a pretty schweet TJ

4point 06-04-2008 03:36 PM

With 35's or 37's you could probably use the 20" wheels, but 33's on 20's wont give enough contact patch when you deflate because theres not enough sidewall.

tenntj04 06-04-2008 03:46 PM

Looks pretty tight to me, i say go for it if you like it.

doesn't look bad to me, I like rockstar wheels on white vehicles, I wouldn't put them on my jeep though, and some larger tires would really help.

MR.CLIFFORD 06-04-2008 05:29 PM

I don't like the skyjacker crap on it more than the rest. It is easy to change wheels and tires.

nicolas-eric 06-04-2008 07:30 PM

the wheels/tires look very ugly.

debruins 06-04-2008 07:42 PM

slap some D60's and 44 in tires and that baby would be SWEEETTT with those wheels

of course it could be cheaper to get smaller wheels and new tires

603TJ 06-04-2008 07:57 PM

yah you should be shot.

MoA 06-04-2008 08:47 PM

atleast its a rubi.. you could just lock up instead of airing down..

it aint tooo bad.. but throw a bigger lift and bigger tires on there so you can air down a bit =p

i saw a 4dr in town the other day all stock with 22s on it and 31'' tires.. looked UGLY.. atleast this jeep doesnt look TOO bad..

id drive it through my parents yard =p

KBR97 06-04-2008 09:49 PM

buy it...change the rims and tires though. Just doesnt look right.

If you keep those rims and tires forget about being shot...you should be thrown in to a pack of wild hyhenas.

Ripcord 06-04-2008 10:03 PM

If I passed you on the street your not getting a :wavey:

Maybe a :flipoff: tho!

Followed with a

Just my 2c!

heh.. and i liked your 'rubi'

i guess just climb under and see what its got drivetrain wise =p

id still put a 5.5'' LA lift, tube fenders, and 37s on it with those rims..

jherrin215 06-05-2008 12:04 AM

Personally i like it. I think bigger tires would help it out. This jeep here is one of my favorite ones I have ever seen if they would lose the BL!! Especially a JK!!

spanky 06-05-2008 12:42 AM

i dont dislike the tires and wheels... i do however dislike the size combo on it. 33's on 20's ?? not my flavor.

get it if it seems good. (mechanically wise) then sell that tire/rim package and buy something else with the money you get from it.

tell us more about the jeep other than what it looks like.

tazmann910 06-05-2008 08:53 AM

Why is there a transfer case drop on a Rubi? That looks like a 4 Inch lift kit..no need for the transfer case drop...

Sell the wheels and tires, get some Soft 8's and 35's and you will be all set.

It's gonna be you Jeep not anyone else's so if you like it get it.

He says he waxed it regularly and by looking at it doesn't look like it was wheeled hard. Good starting point if you are a fan of the mods, personally i don't like rough country, but keep looking and don't just jump right into the first one you see.

MOz 06-05-2008 12:08 PM

Does liking it make YOU feel bad? Seems like a rhetorical question to me..... I detect some reservation on your part. Go with your gut. If you like and it's a good deal, get a CarFax report and do your homework before you buy.

You can't go too wrong with a Rubicon.

pdeco1 06-05-2008 12:41 PM

MOz, that is what I figured as well. I am leaning towards an 07 though, the prices seem to be falling pretty quick. I can start with a clean slate and know what I am getting myself into. I have not read anything good about the Skyjacker lifts. 37k miles is a lot too on an 06.

CVFD76 06-05-2008 10:22 PM

ugh, not a good look at all for jeeps. but its your money do with it wat u please
