4 x4 Action on Long Island ?

Where can I go for some off road action on Long Island besides the beach?

On Long Island, nowhere legal. And from what I understand, the illegal spots can get your vehicle impounded.

just got my first jeep and live in ny, was wondering where on long island you I can take her to the beach and do i need any permits etc? thanks for any info

You need permits for every beach I know of... Coming from nyc I would get the state permit and try the beaches off ocean Parkway still a hike though. Check with the state website of open permit registration dates as they don't give them out year round.

Thanks, breezy point is permit only too so i could go that route, its Federal Land though so i dont know if its a federal permit which i assume wouldnt carry over to other state beaches. I didnt know if there were non-permit beaches around, but thanks for clearing that up
