SPOD and switching button face plates?

Hi,

I am looking at getting the SPOD so its not so much of a pain to mess with the electrical system.

http://www.4x4spod.com/product_p/600...k.htm?CartID=1

It looks like a real nice mod! I was wondering however, anyone knows if the face plates from this site:

OTRATTW

are compatible with the SPOD?

Do I need just to get these? :
OTRATTW

Also, what about the laser etching ones?

OTRATTW

Having no lens like the ones above how will they look when in use?

Any info is appreciated thanks!!

Bob

Yes, the ORTATTW ones are compatible. And you don't just switch the "faces", the entire button pulls out and you pop the new one in its place.

Edit, did some research and it does seem the rockers do come off and you can switch them right off. Saw a few guys just switching the rocker plates and not the entire buttons.

I just did this and got the discount but shipping is not free. Came to $443 for the one with air gauge shipped.

I checked it earlier and it took $23.00 off the total price, but no discount AND free shipping. However, EAD offers free shipping automatically and a discount via a code they can give you. I'll be getting mine from EAD.

How do you get the code from EAD?

sPOD may be, EAD is based out of Colorado so that's a bit of a hike for us.

I left the original wireing from sPod alone, except for the Aux battery switch. The other switches only light up when the accessories and on. The Aux battery switch lights up when the dual batteries are combined.

it's not hard at all. the hardest part, if you have multiple switches, is getting them ti line up. Otherwise it looks like a hack job.

Farnham21 10-01-2012 09:58 PM

Do they wire to the fuse box? I have no idea how to do it lol hopefully they come with directions lol

Most people wire directly to the battery and include an in-line fuse setup. The SPOD eliminates that. You wire the lights directly to "the source" box that is mounted under the hood and call it good. :thumb:

I will be getting mine thru EAD Offroad. It automatically comes with free shipping and they offer a forum discount. You can get the sPod with or without an air gauge. Looking around 415 without and 437 with the gauge, not including tax or the switch labels.

X2. I ordered mine from EAD as well. Seems to be the only place that gives you a discount on the SPod.

This looks great, BUT having to splice into the factory harness to pull a power source for the switch LEDs kind of defeats the purpose of the SPOD to begin with, no?
http://forum.aev-conversions.com/att...1&d=1336362462

If I'm going to spend $400+ on the SPOD my main objective is to avoid splicing into the factory wiring.
