Chrome grill paint!

hey guys, i have a black TJ with a Chrome grill that's really annoying me. i want to paint it to match the car color.
do you think the rustoleum or duplicolor bed liner spray will be fine with it?

i bet if you scuff the surface first (say 2000 grit sandpaper) and spray almost anything on it, it'd stick. something like this it would be best to remove the grill and not paint while still attached. Its ok to paint on the jeep but if you want to make sure you cover the shiny beyond the shadow of a doubt i'd make sure to scuff it. plasti-dip seems to be poplar on here these days :)

what ever you do - just take your time and good luck!!!! :)

It's an overlay. I'm sure it's held with double stick tape so it should be removable. A heatgun out hair dryer should loosen it up. It's going to get paint to stick well to it and stone chips will occur pretty easy.

It's held in with two screws on the top and bottom or some just have plastic push pins. You will also need to remove the headlight rings then replace them after you remove the grill.

This is correct. I removed mine also. Glad I did too cuz I noticed some very minor surface rust forming between the two where the overlay was rubbing the paint. Just pop out the 2 top plastic push clips. The bottm of the overlay is slotted so it just slides onto the bottom two push clips.
