Looking at the Seattle area
Live in Colorado now and love it here but I have been offered a job in Vancouver. Not wanting to manage teams 100% remotely, I am thinking of moving to Seattle. That way, I can drive in a few times a month. Vancouver is simply too expensive, and I am not crazy about Canada's tax rate.

So, for those of you living in/near Seattle, do you like it there? Does the drizzle get old? We like hiking, photography, cycling (mtn and road) and want to take up kayaking. Off-roading is nice too, of course, but I don't particularly want rock crawling type of trails- more of the moderate and scenic type instead.

Any feedback on the area would be appreciated- trail-related or in general. I'd prefer to live in/near Seattle, since it has more job opportunities and we enjoy the cool/cultural stuff too.

Seattle is a big city. It's sits on the Puget Sound and between the Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges. Plenty to do. We have four seasons, so it doesn't always rain. I think you'll find plenty you like.

Another option is the Olympic Peninsula. It's just as rainy, still a ferry rude from Vancouver and has more trails to run than the Seattle area. It is also cheaper and much less populated.

Cool, I'll start researching and plan a visit. I am very apprehensive about leaving Colorado, but I have a feeling that the Pac Northwest will be a very nice place as well.

You'd do very well with outdoor activities here. Multiple mountain ranges, varying topography, and all kinds of weather. Come on out and get away from the snow :)
