Server Issues

I apologize if you all are experiencing some intermittent server issues. We are looking into the issue right now and I'll report back ASAP.

SouthTJ 10-05-2012 03:58 PM

I noticed this morning that some links would go to the wrong page and a few threads I posted in my comments are no longer there.

edit: now my comments are there. nevermind

kjeeper10 10-05-2012 03:59 PM

My thread is gone. Nowhere to be found :(

I'm sure you already know, but just in case... The iPhone app is completely worthless as of late last night. I've re-installed and restarted several times. At best I get the dreaded "Parse" error saying the forum software is outdated.

jdambm 10-05-2012 04:50 PM

Android

Android app not working either

I get this as well on the iPhone and iPad.

orngcrushrgrl 10-05-2012 07:59 PM

Any idea on a timeframe for the app to be fixed??

Zed 10-05-2012 07:59 PM

Yup. Ipad app is down. I had to use the browser.

Good luck getting it fixed... Whoever is working on it. IT issues are a pain sometimes

I am having problems with my servers also. I told them I wanted sweet tea and a crumpet. They brought me Kool Aid and opposum nuggets. WTF!

Forum files are getting in bad shape due to excess of useless replies... Specially when somebody reply a post with bunch of pictures from the OP... (Just to say an example)

Soon, the admin will need to cut old threads because the system files can't take any more or need to be repair... Then, they might run a backup file up but all the new threads won't be there... And your personal post counter will be reduced due to that backup...

Btw... The mobile apps are not working because they uninstall the TapaTalk software from the database...

Anyway... Good luck to the admin and forum...

So a Doctor should cut some of your health history because his/her computer is not large enough?

If you have large databases, most will use Oracle.... not mysql... as most server farm use... As a WF Supporting Member I think the service is great for the price.... lets move forward...

Thanks for the information!

supercazzola 10-06-2012 10:07 AM

besides the iphone / ipad apps getting parse errors, many folks see posts and PMs missing. Any chance we could get an update on what's been found?

Andy R 10-06-2012 03:52 PM

We are currently trying to fix the apps and hope to have them working again soon.

Unfortunately the issue on Friday was that we were moving servers and the DNS was propagating out to everyone differently. This means some were posting on the old server while others were posting on the new server. We actually closed the boards on the old server to prevent this but our weekly Friday maintenance routines accidentally re-opened them. That means the missing posts/PMs won't be able to be recovered. I am very sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we work to get the apps working again.

I'm still getting the Parse Error on the iPhone app, which isn't a big deal because I'm sitting in front of my PC... but just for your FYI.

That's ok. I love this site, and am a supporting member to show my appreciation. Thanks for the explanation of what caused it.

Sahara707 10-06-2012 06:27 PM

Parse Errors this morning, but all is well on my iPad. Great to see everything is working.

GoldenSahara00 10-06-2012 11:40 PM

Iphone still down but I don't care. In damn near 3 years I have been here you guys have operated a top notch site. Glad to hear you are on top of the problem and taking care of everything. :thumb:

GoldenSahara00 10-07-2012 12:42 AM

Strike that we are back in action.

Also note that the new iOS seems to mess with the Wf app when entering text. It makes you type at least a full line OR press enter in order to submit or send a post. It also sometimes has errors when trying to fix text within the first line of typing due to this issue.

MrSig 10-07-2012 03:30 AM

My sprint is still not working correct.
