My new best friend.

I went the other day and picked up little "Jack". I found him at a no kill shelter called North shore animal league.
According to the shelter hes a hound mix....I dont see it, looks more like a Jack russel mix to me. BTW hes 2 years old.

here he is with my younger sister on the way home...

Congratulations on getting a new family member!! And kudos to you for adopting him. If I had enough land, I'd empty all the local shelters and give all of the dogs and cats a home. Enjoy your new friend!! :)

congrats on your new puppy, err well dog. i adopted shooter when he was 6 months and i just graduated high school...i guess that makes him about 3 years old now, faithfull and loyal, they know you saved there arse. pretty dog though, have fun house trainin the little fellow!!!

KBR97 06-14-2008 12:32 PM

yeah talk about house training...first night he dropped a steamer right on the couch...lol, little bastard.
He seems to be paper trained though, I guess from being at the shelter.
When I came home from work I found he had used the paper.

yea those kennel dogs are used to just going on themselfs so have fun re-training if there had ever been any to begin with.

Dogs Rule..!
He looks happy, good job..

i took him down by the bay when it was low tide today...he loved running all along the sand and mud, in the marsh grass that was twice his height, lol. He looked like a dolphin with his head popping up and down through the grass as he ran, lol.

He seems to be very skittish around moving cars, and is also nervous in the jeep. He sits on the passenger seat with a sad look, then lays down looking kinda in a 'funk". Hopefully he'll get more used to it.

Just remember, he might have been thrown out of a car by the original owner or had near misses while he was homeless. Might have also thought you were taking him back to the pound. Take him on more FUN trips and he'll come around.

i love my dog form the shelter as well, i swear they're a lot nicer, except for their own one or two quirks

I adopted a 1.5 year old rat terrier/chihuahua sorta mix dog from the humane society a couple years ago. He was a runner, but with lots of love and attention he has become a big part of my family. He definitely has a unique personality.

One of his latest stuffed animal conquests:

Congratulations on your dog adoption.
