Why put an air gauge inside?

Warning: Probable dumb NooB question ahead...

I'm looking at installing a sPod to simplify wiring and they offer a console with an air gauge. Assuming that I will eventually add onboard air, I'm wondering what the benefit would be, if any, to have the gauge inside the vehicle when I'll be using the air outside (fill tires, power tools, etc...)? Is this because it takes so long to fill a tire that you can hangout inside while you wait? What am I missing?

I think it would be to check air pressure in the air tank for purposes of running front and rear air lockers...

That and most people don't leave the compresser on all the time. If you know that your tank is not full for whatever reason you can build up air before you need it.

Awesome. Thanks guys! Figure for the extra $25 it may make sense to add it now. Was trying to figure out if I would ever use it.

I plan on getting the sPod with the guage and hope to add an OBA system sometime in the future.
