Is your DD your Jeep?

If so do you take your DD off road and mudding?

Redsand 11-06-2012 04:34 PM

Yes and Yes . Well not really mudding but I hit the trails

Randens Rubi 11-06-2012 04:38 PM

2006 LJ Rubi DD for my wife and I. I work night shift and she works during the day so it's kind of a double DD. we have fun with it on our days off as well. Love our jeep and I wouldn't trade it for any other vehicle ever.

flatsfisher83 11-06-2012 04:39 PM

2012 and 2013 JKUs. Both of ours are DD as well as trail, beach, mud.

brandon-99tj 11-06-2012 04:43 PM

Yup and heck yup. X2 on the mud....to hard to clean up. No extreme trails, usually just thru a buddies woods

Raiderfan001 11-06-2012 04:44 PM

Yep and yep. I usually avoid mud if possible though. I hate cleaning it up afterwards.

Cascadian 11-06-2012 04:45 PM

My '08 Rubicon is my DD and I enjoy taking it on some pretty interesting and difficult trails. I do get it fairly muddy since it's hard to resist and impossible to avoid in the wet Pacific Northwest, but I wouldn't really consider it mudding since I don't get as crazy or bold as some people on here.

Edit: Just realized this is on the TJ forum. Oops.

jp2611 11-06-2012 04:56 PM

I "wheel" my TJ but not as much as some Jeepers I know, and it is also my DD and has been since I bought it in '04...now the JK it plays "taxi" for the TJ as the TJ only seat 2 with the half top and the whole family like to wheel....I need another off-road rig/ DD
The '12 is "too nice" to wheel in the IN clay/ mud mix IMO

Rolly32 11-06-2012 05:06 PM

Yup, my jeep is my DD.. I do minimal wheeling on trails and explorations because my jeep is my daily commuter. I won't do extreme things like rock crawling or extreme mudding though.

My buddies and I have found interesting things while wheeling in the middle of no where.. We have explored abandoned buildings, houses, and even a cemetary with grass waist high with graves dating back in the mid 1800s out in the boonies. It really makes you wonder what the area was like back in that time.

Dextreme 11-06-2012 05:13 PM

Mine is a DD, but I will take it out on the sand dunes, high dessert with sage brush, and snow. If I want to play in mud, I use my 4x4 atv.

Mines a DD. Hate mud but, wheel hard. I drive to and from the trail head. I was always envious of the trailer queen crowd, in my local club, and always wondered how that would affect my lines or decision making. I broke once on the trail but, my dues paid for membership rolled a couple members away from a family weekend and to come to my rescue.

Wheel wisely and listen to wiser members.

Daily driver and hit the trails about every weekend. I don't do a whole lot of "mudding" just because I hate cleaning it up. I'm lucky and live within 2 hours of 5 offroad parks, mountains, management areas and national forest so I have a good bit to explore.

pastorscott 11-06-2012 07:27 PM

sad to say its my DD....Jeep too old and tired im afraid to hurt it

Xjman1 11-06-2012 08:57 PM

Daily driver and no I do not go out looking for mud, but do not go around it if it's on the trail. Mud Happens...

DBoat 11-06-2012 09:12 PM

Lincoln33 11-06-2012 09:41 PM

Mines an "every other" DD, have to share it with the wife. Lite trailing only

YPKYAY 11-06-2012 09:55 PM

Yes and yes!

DwayneDuby 11-06-2012 09:56 PM

Yep and Yep. Sucks when you break your DD. Damn Turdy-5

Coljag 11-06-2012 11:34 PM

Yep and yep. Why wouldn't you? A Jeep is for wheeling or should it be four wheeling! That's why it's a four letter word aint it? Mind you I spend more time cleaning it than I should and often take time off work to clean it so it's clean enough to drive to work every day (don't like getting my work clothes grubby before I get to work aye). My wife is the boss so easy to bribe for the time off!
