My power windows stopped working

Any idea why power windows would just stop operating on a 2012 JK Sport? I mean, am I missing a security lock button somewhere that I might have hit by accident?

I've heard rumors that Chrysler vehicles have a history of poor wiring ... what am I looking at here?

do any of the windows work off their own switch or is everything dead? If everything is dead, then with one hand hold the window switch down while taking your other hand and moving around the drivers door wiring harness. Its easy to find. Only wiring harness leading to the door. If the window starts to work then you have a wire somewhere close to where you were moving the harness.

If you have a four door and the back windows work. Shut off the car open the door than start the car again it should work.....

I had a problem where the auto down feature stopped working, but could still open them.

It was still under warranty. Yours should be too if it's a '12. Take it to the dealer.

Rumors are only true on Chrysler Jeeps... and only because they bought Jeep in the 80's.

Chrysler has done a lot to improve the terrible AMC wiring from past years.

On my 1991, I have a rear hatch auto-lock mechanism that never worked from the first day. The dealer couldn't trace the splice and fix the problem - I gave up and open it manually.

Good luck... I'm sure its a simple fix.

ok well here's an update ... the next morning when I got in my Wrangler and started it up, the windows worked fine and haven't failed since.

Go figure.

Mine will do that randomly too, I can get in, and start driving and roll down the windows, and then wont go back up later. Electric gremlins are fun. But next time, just cycle power and see if that fixes it, otherwise reseat the wiring harness for the doors if that doenst fix it

Mine did this once shortly after I bought it. Went away after restarting, hasn't happened again since (currently at 2000 miles).

Really comforting... :whistling:
