Gas Peak

Has anyone taken the Gas Peak Trail coming in from the east side? Entering from the 215 and 15 off of Range Road. I haven't made the trip over to scout for accessibility yet, but am curious if the roads are open at that point. Google looks like there may be some type of storage or gun range out there so I don't know if that is part of Nellis on that side to the 15.

Here is a little info on gas Peak but no mention of the east side by Nellis.

Backroads Around Las Vegas, Desert NWR, Gass Peak Road

Thanks for the heads up, This link brings you in from the West, which is probably the direction that we will enter from. Thinking that I will take a scouting trip tonight to see if Range Road at the east end of the 215 has a locked gate keeping anyone from getting out into BLM land.

Thanks

Took a trip this morning to scout entering from Range Road and although the gate is not locked the property is clearly under control of Nellis AFB. Air Force Firing Range. Guess I will definitely be coming in from the West off of 95.

You can enter from the 95 to the west and also the 93 to the east. Mormon Wells road has been roughly repaired and reopened according to blm guy I talked to on the phone 3 weeks ago. Might take the bike out for a scout of the area when I get it put back together.

... but gass peak from the 215 is permanently closed.
