Blew the lead in the British Open. He's famous for faltering when leading major championships. I should have known. :crash:

I've never played golf that didn't involve windmills and giant monkeys.

I used to make a living doing it. Then I realized I wasn't that good so I grew up and got a real job. :D

If you were making a living at it, what did it matter if you weren't that good. Doing something you love and being able to make money at it out weighs most things in life. And growing up sucks the big one.

bluvikng 07-20-2008 02:58 PM

Explain that to your son............:D

Good point but I now make more than 10 times what I did in the golf business. There is a point where money can sway your decision.

Just out of curiosity Scout, were you actually a golf professional or did you just hustle games at you local club?

Scout 07-21-2008 07:06 PM

Golf course pro and I played in a couple of Hogan Tour events (which is now the Nationwide Tour). I never played on the weekend though if you know what I mean. :crash:

Pretty cool.... A good friend of mine was a pro at a local course. He went back to school and got his master's and is now teaching PE at a local high school. He's also the golf team coach.

My son worked at the SCGA course here in town, he was a "cart boy" until he got promoted to driving the little armored car that picks up the balls on the driving range. He called himself a "Golf professional" after the promotion.
