Oil Pressure Senders

Anyone know the big diffrence between the like the 1999 and below model year and the 2000 and up model year oil pressure sending unit. They look the same but the one for my 2002 is like $43 and the 1999 one is like $21. Just wanted to check befoe I got one and it was wrong. Thanks

Older oil pressure senders are variable resistors that show the actual oil pressure. Newer senders are strictly switches that indicate only if the pressure is acceptable or not. Older senders won't work properly in your '02.

Too Bad, not only would it save money, if it worked it would show me real pressure, not just an estimate. I like my gauges to move :)
