New to this Forum,Few Questions...any help would be great. thanks
Thanks for Reading
Hello i made this account a while back and have since then purchased a new jeep. its a 2008 black wrangler Rubicon with a 6 speed manual.
is it possible to add this jeep to my profile so that i may discuss both of my wranglers under the same account?
i have tried the "add new vehicle" link under my profile and was rejected...not sure why this is any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also a few questions about the jeep
here we go
1, i am of course interested in lifting the 08 JK'R but am in a bind on what size lift and tire combination as to go with, my previous wrangler was a tj and was on a 4 inch lift with 33 inch tires...plenty enough for the way i wheeled it,
i am interested in lifting my new 08 jeep enough to clear either
35 inch tires OR 37s I CANT DECIDE WHICH SIZE
heres my big question?
what if any (besides obviously the amount of lift) modifications would need to be made to the jeep to run 35s.....and then what about the 37s?
i have herd different people say different things about needing a New Front Driveshaft and possibly Adjustable Upper Front Control Arms (not familiar with these) as well as a few other things i cant thing of off of the top of my head
my main concerns are
RIDE QUALITY ( this is now my Daily Driver) and i am a college student that drives mostly around town with the occasional around 100 mile trip home
MAINTENANCE ( if there is considerable more maintenance with the 37s as opposed to the 35s due to u joints...whatever failing then id rather RUN THE 35s and save a little $$$)
ReGearing ( since its a rubicon im pretty sure the stock gears will push 35s...not sure about needing to re gear if i went with the 37s)
Power/GET up and GO ( obviously its a jeep and its not built for speed but im just wondering if there is a SIGNIFICANT amount of loss of power/speed/get up and go due to running the 37s over the 35s)
ANY input about this situation would be greatly appreciated
i want to build this jeep RIGHT by that i mean i dont want to get out the cheap way and keep the front driveshaft if its going to cause any problems on or off road whatsoever. ive learned my lesson from my first jeep that if your going to build it BUILD IT RIGHT.

new to this forum....how do i post in the jk section....i still have no clue how to post haha
Wow, lots of questions. As far as the lift and tires, I wouldn't go above 35s and a 2.5" lift to start out. When you go bigger, you start putting more stress on the rig and will have to start beefing things up and/or changing things out. That said, you'll find lots of opinions on both subjects.
As far as adding a vehicle to your profile: On the "Quick Links" drop down menu at the toop of the page, select "Edit Your Details". When you get to that page you can click on "Add a Vehicle" in the menu on the left side of the page.
