My problem is I can not keep my rear drive shaft in.
I had a slip joint shaft and lost it twice going down the road.
Changed transfer case to yoke type have lost it twice now.
I have purchased a 4.11 ring gear and pinion for frt. and rear.
Do you think with the change in ratio this will help.
My wife has some health where she can not get out and do a lot of walking. The Jeep has been great fun for her and I to do together It is agrivating to keep loosing the driveshaft.
The strap bolts are breaking on the rear yoke. I have put new ones in on each replacement.
I don't believe it is to short because it comes out while going down the highway.
I know that some of the guys in our club had that problem too. It seems like they drilled out the holes in the yokes, and put the next larger strap on them. Hopefully someone that has done that will jump in here and tell you the size of hole to drill. They have not had any issues with that, after they did that.
I would tend to think that it's the angle of the DShaft and the use of the stock slip yoke that is causing this. Ideal fix is to change TCase to Slip Yoke Eliminator fixed yoke kit with a new CV style driveshaft. That would most definitely fix your woes. Short term fix would be to put in a TCase Drop if you don't already have one.
Yes I believe that is what they did, but I would also have to go with 1BLKJP on this as well. I was assuming that you already had the skid plate dropped about 1.5 inches. It is usually caused by the drive shaft angle being to severe. If your t-case is dropped, then you really should do the SYE kit, and the CV style drive shaft. That is the best fix. After you do that, you will be able to put your skid plate back up to the frame anyway.
