Leave it off. no need for it unless you have to pass inspection.

Ditto. Leave it. Enjoy the more comfortable ride.

Is there any safety concerns with taking out the front and rear track bars? I know they or some sort or track bar is needed for a four link setup.. But I've never seen any on old trucks or even new trucks. Was strange seeing them on the jeep when I bought it.

Look under 80-04 Fords, they are there

As far as safety, that seems to be subjective... so let me ask it this way: If removing them makes the vehicle flex more, does leaving them make it flex less, i.e. provide more stability at high speeds?

Yes, there is a safety concern operating on hard surfaces at 55mph plus making sudden movements, like deer dodging. That said, the increased length and width of the YJ (vs CJ) made it much more stable anyhow. Because of this, mixed with the fact that the axle doesn't really need lateral support, most folk think running without em is no different than with, except it flexs more.

There is nothing that is all good at no cost. Nothing. :thumb:

Fwiw the cj7 and yj are 0.1 difference in wheelbase and the later model ones were 2.5 inches wider than a yj.
