Halogen Headlight Conversion. Need some info.
For as long as I had my 05 Wrangler, the factory headlights have always felt very damn weak. I replaced the things thinking they were going bad, and they still seem weak. They'll light up the road to see, but I still had a hard time seeing, and sometimes I felt that driving with them was a bit of a hazard.
I figure it is time for a upgrade to Halogen or whatever is better (longer lasting preferably) and I need a bit of info about them. I know some of the aftermarket lamps are Plug-and-Play while others require a conversion kit. I would prefer something simple to install, but what's the major difference between the two?
I dont pretend to know everything about fancy lightbulbs, so any other information, specific product recommendations and anything else would be apreciated.
Thank you in advanced.
Yes, stock lighting is poor.
I run Hella e-codes and 55/60w H4 bulbs on my '05 LJ. Plug and play, ~$100 total.
I used Susquehanna Motorsports as my source.
It is a good idea to upgrade the harness, to put more power to the lights. Mandatory if you run higher wattage than 55/60.
Lots of good info, and high quality products here:
