Woofer box mounting solution

I'm looking to permanently fasten the subwoofer that my dad had installed several years ago. Reason being that the only thing that is holding it in place is the backseat and the tailgate and I want to be remove the backseat to open up the amount of storage space available without worrying about the sub sliding around when nothing is there. Any suggestions? Thank you.

I hooked a ratchet strap to the rear brackets for the back seat when it's out. That way the sub box doesnt move but i can pull it out of the jeep in under 3 minutes and flip the seat back down. Not permanent but it works well for now. I'm planning on taking the back seat out and building a box for the back with the subs integrated and have either tie down spots or a cargo basket on top for camping/groceries.

I'll put that on my weekend jeep to-do list, although I drove 15 minuets to meet with my tutor with the back seat folded up and didn't have any issues with it moving on road with the roughest part of it was my dirt road that got graded this afternoon. and to expand on your solution woudent the eye brackets that are mounted in the rear of the tub near the tailgate work just as well?

yeah those would probably work too. My sub box is a bit too big for the jeep so i have it centered in the tub. 2 12s take up alot of space. Going to do a smaller box soon and possibly just run one 12 so i can fit it behind the rear seat when i actually use it lol

I made a no-drill metal bracket.
It's held in with 2 bolts - usng the holes for the child restraint anchors near the tailgate lip.
(All the other small bolts in the pic are just holding the bracket together)

Made it a nice tight fit -
The tub walls stop any left-right movement.
Tailgate lip stops any aft movement.
At the front, the bracket slides under seat brackets - those brackets and the seat belt mount in the center of the tub stop any forward movement.

Ran some cambuckle straps under the bracket.
Was going to use ratchet straps but the store I went to didn't have any - the cambuckle straps have held up well :thumb:

Then tied the sub down.
