Planning a Southwest CO trip

Hello all,

We are planning a trip to the Southwest region of CO, with that being said, what would be a good home base to stay? It appears that Lake City or Ouray look like the best? Any ideas would be super helpful!

Thanks in advance, Jim

Well it kinda depends on why your planning on doing and when your doing it. For skiing or boarding you might want to go more north and try to go to Breckinridge although Colorado has about zero inches of snow right now so I wouldn't waste your money on that. That's just my two cents. But if you want to wheel.... Then Ouray is the best place to stay by far.
So let us know what your looking for and when I'm sure you will get a ton of info

Topher....here goes. We are going next Sept. late in the month, only going to 4 wheel. We are going to do most of the trails that are listed in the Colorado 4 wheel adventures. We are going to all less the two or three very difficult trails.

I have looked a rental in Telluride that will house all of us that are going and I really cant find any thing in the Ouray area that is large enough.

Thanks Jim

September is a good time of the year for all trails down here. Thats quite the number of trails you guys are gonna be running. I hope to see some pictures :thumb:
