Throttle body spacer

I have the 4.0l. I'm thinking about throwing a throttle body spacer on just to get a little extra power. Is it worth the money? Does it really give you a noticeable amount of gain? What brands are better than others for performance? Thanks for the input fellas.

Save your money. Not worth installing.

I installed one on a Dodge truck once, and I agree with the others that it's not worth the effort.

Spacers help performance when placed under carburetors or TBI (throttle body injection) styles of throttle bodies. But a spacer won't help anything at all when placed under the air-only type of throttle body that the TJ engine has. Really. :)

Some make a nice whistle sound.:whistling:

I have heard they relay only give torque but i have one on my 2012 and it realy is not worth the money because I don't feel the difference and imho I think I loose gas mileage

They do nothing when installed under a modern air-only throttle body except make the air flow path longer. They don't add HP, they don't add torque, they don't add mpg, they don't do a thing.

The only thing a throttle body spacer does for the owner of any vehicle with a modern throttle body is add $$$ to the bank accounts of their dealers & manufacturers.

Thanks guys. Yeah the quadratech catalogs promise a 12 HP gain. I was skeptical. Glad I got your input on it.

Good thing you asked first.....what do those run anyway like $150?

I added a poweraid spacer to my 4.0 only because it was red and looked good with the other billet red stuff i have in the engine compartment .
They do not add or take away from any performance just like the high dollar silicon radiator hoses but they look good too...lol

If I had a red anodized throttle body spacer sitting under my throttle body, its red color would be enough for me to remove it today rather than waiting until next weekend to remove it. I'd be afraid that a friend would notice it more easily due to its red color and start laughing at it. :p
