Joshua Tree ShakeDown drive....

......for our 2003 TJ X this week. We were thinking the Geology Road Tour ( all 16 stops ) just to get use to it . . .
Any other thoughts?
Thanx
Rick

I don't remember the name of the trail, but there's some cool ones like this:

Awesome photo. Are you sure that's not a hiking trail? Lol. Adding to my list of trails I need to wheel.

Check out Berdoo canyon too. Very scenic.

Hehe no, It's a pretty cool trail though. It's like that all the way to the top of the mountain where it dead ends. There are some pretty cool views from up top. At the base where the trail starts there are some fun sand dunes to play in. I got stuck there :D

It's definitely a cool area that I would visit again.

We did the lower part ( Dillon Rd to just past the mining camp ) a few years ago on a Hummer tour.....
Perhaps a bit much for our maiden tour, but it is on the list!
..... And getting stuck in the sand, probably something else we may want to avoid for now.

Just got back.......
Did most of the Geology Road tour ( learned some stuff, always good ) came to the intersection of Berdoo Road, figured what the heck......
Made it down without a scratch ( except on the skidplate ) or getting stuck. Did shake loose a speaker on the roll bar, and may need to re-tighten the dash, otherwise a great time!

Interesting.. How'd you map your route? Is that a gadget or phone app?

I use a Garmin 60CSX GPS. Uses Garmin Basecamp to download it on the computer. It's pretty cool to be able to go back and see where you missed that turn or whatever.

Glad you did Berdoo. It is a fun relatively easy trail. One of my favorite trails in the park.
