Quick Lift Kit Question

Hey everyone, sorry for the probably easy and stupid question. Im a TJ guy coming here because my friends dad and I are buying my friend a lift and tires for his 2012 Unlimited freedom edition (sport with different badging) for his birthday.

We bought a 2" OME lift and 33x11.5 Goodyear MT/R kevlar.

Do we need extended brake lines or any driveshaft modifications like a TJ would?

Thanks! :wavey:

Should be fine. You only run into issues when you lift over three. At three or more you need an exhaust spacer. BTW nice lift choice!

You shouldn't need to mod anything to fit a 2" and 33's

it depends on the shocks you add.

if they're 10"+ shocks than you'll want new brake lines and a new front drive shaft.

if they're under a 10" traveling shock than you'll be ok.

size of the lift is not as important as shock travel when it comes to drive shaft connection with say the auto transmission or skid plate.

lift size and length of shocks will ruin a drive shaft quicker.

i will say that in some cases, the length of shocks will destroy a drive shaft quicker than lift height.

Did you get the light load kit or the heavy load kit? IIRC if you use the heavy load kit without any bumpers or something adding more weight you are going to get a good amount more than 2". I could be wrong but im sure Pluke knows.

We got the light load with a new bumper and 11k winch, so it should weight it down real nice :p hopefully it doesn't sag too much...

Sounds like he's got the 4 door so he should be golden.
