pullin the trigger on 35's

Gonna get them installed on the 17th of this month.

IslandTJ 12-06-2012 12:54 AM

Congrats, type and brand?

hunteryj93 12-06-2012 12:59 AM

Goodyear mtr. Been seeing mixed reviews, as about any mt.

IslandTJ 12-06-2012 10:33 AM

I think they're a great tire, especially the Kevlar sidewalls. If they offered them in a 33x10.5, I would most likely buy a set.

hunteryj93 12-06-2012 11:52 AM

I been looking at diffrent tires, my other options were dc crushers or baja claws.

I hated the MT/R's they lasted less then 3 months on my jeep before I sold them.

hunteryj93 12-07-2012 09:00 PM

Depends what you use your jeep for imo

banks316 12-07-2012 09:15 PM

I ran mine at 5 psi and the sidewalls didn't have very much flex. If you wheel on wet rock thus is a good choice for a tire. If your Jeep is a mall crawler that sees only 10% or less off road then this is the tire for you.

hunteryj93 12-07-2012 09:20 PM

No rocks or malls for me. Both have no intrest to me.

banks316 12-07-2012 09:45 PM

Have you checked out the Cooper descovery stt

Are you sure about that? I recall seeing pics of your jeep at the mall on ojo  :flipoff:

hunteryj93 12-07-2012 09:52 PM

Yes i have. Its comparable to the goodyear for me. Kevlar sidewalls have the edge to me over the coopers. I need a tough sidewall for my needs in a mt. What i use my jeep for is diffrent than alot of other people. Hitting the ohv park and a dd is second to what i use my jeep for.

Are you talking about the Military MTRs you are selling, or MTR/Ks?

Coopers STT are MTs. But its your money/Jeep i was really disappointed in them. I wish GY didn't switch the old school MT/R's were awesome. I just picked up a set today.

hunteryj93 12-07-2012 10:05 PM

I know they are mt's.

hunteryj93 12-07-2012 10:07 PM

Ive ran the older kevlars and was very happy with them.

The military tires I'm selling are MT's not MT/R's. I'm talking about the MT/R's with Kevlar I hate those tires with a passion. They last 3 months before I sold them and went back to my MTs. I just picked up a set of old school MT/Rs

Ones on the right are the MTs, center is the first gen MT/Rs spent have Kevlar.

There are many who wheel JV (big rocks), run successfully with the Goodyear MTR Kevlars :thumb:

I know I'll get laughed at but the treadwright guard dog is badass, and the price makes it worth it even if you end up not liking them.

Yea I know we all got to start somewhere. Building my first 4x4 resulted in a felony convection. After I did my time I went 6 years before I built my Dodge. I was just as poor as I was dieting my first build but I didn't buy low quality parts. You always get what you pay for. I was just trying to give my review of the MT/R K as we both wheel in the same environment and at some of the same ohv Parks.

I live 4 blocks from work so not allot of miles get logged in the Jeep. Plus these tires come with all sorts of shit talking and joke potential. It's a win win. !

hunteryj93 12-08-2012 02:10 AM

Hey as long as they work for ya thats all that matters.

scoobyjeep 12-09-2012 10:40 PM

i have ran my MTR's in the mud and rock and have had no issues yet, its mostly down to personal preference but i do agree about the sidewalls being to deep, i want the old hummer tires in 35's
