Northeast Trail Tour

So as winter break begins the boredom of being home from college has also. To pass the time and get some much needed trail experience I proposed the idea of taking my JKU on a little trail tour of the northeast U.S. It is still just an idea but that is the reason I am posting here. I don't know of many trails to begin with! I am a new wrangler owner (just over a year) and have only been able to get my Jeep to the local beach or bumpy gravel road, no way for a Wrangler to live in my opinion, so I need some help discovering new areas to play around on. As I said before, I am not real experienced off road but the best way to learn is from experience so I am really looking forward to hitting some trails. Beginner trails are mainly what I am looking for, not a flat dirt road with some bumps but more along the lines of small rock crawling, shallow mudding and rivers, and some moderate grades to traverse. I am beginning my trip on Long Island near Commack and would like to, loosely, follow this guide; Port Jeff ferry to Connecticut up through Massachusetts, across to upstate New York down through Pennsylvania and finally driving back through the big apple and onto the island. If anyone knows any trails in those states that are beginner/moderate and open to the public please feel free to post them here, I would really appreciate it. Also, if anyone from the island or the states included would like to join you are more then welcome! We will be staying at small motels or public camp grounds and the entire trip should take between a week and 2 weeks depending on trail time, weather, or any other mishaps. Cost should be moderate with the bulk being gas, food and possibly a place to stay. All in all it should be a very fun time for anyone who likes wheeling. So please post any trails in those states and let me know if your interested! Trip leaves January 2nd!

*this is not a professionally organized trip (obviously) so it is all at your own risk and desire*

Sorry I did not include this in the op but if anyone would like to point me in the right direction for some legal trails but don't want to post it for the world to see, you can pm me or reach me at mikebiondo6@aol.com. Also, you do not need to participate in the entire trip, you can just meet up for a run or 2 in your local area! But I do still need people who are willing to give up the location so I can find it! Thanks everyone.

I'm from the island too, I'll get back to you. I wish I could take the trip to ct or mass. I ride the ferry for free, I worked there for a long time. Just left last year

I'm probably just down for local trails

Here are a couple of sites you can check out, to see if there is anything you are interested in: Main Page - Dirtopia, the Off-Road Encyclopedia and ATV Trails, Motorcycle Trails, Motocross Tracks, California.

Hey, I too am a new Wrangler owner who's never experienced trail riding. My wife and I are heading from Michigan to the northeast coast in 3 weeks and I wondered if anyone had any advice on where to go and experience some easy trails. We were thinking about hitting Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, and Vermont. Any recommendations?
