I have just completed the external slave conversion on my jeep and can't get the clutch to disengage. My jeep-90 Wrangler 4.2. New trans, bell, and shift fork are out of a 99 TJ. All new pilot bearing, clutch, pressure plate, slave and master cylinders (all correct for 94-99 ax-15). The trouble is that (I know clutch is bled properly) it seems as though I am locked out of gears 1-5 (can't even get them to grind) and reverse just grinds, its like the slave doesn't have a long enough throw. Does anyone have any ideas? do I need a 94-99 pressure plate...ie: is it thicker? I am at a loss, any help is appreciated.

it is a mofo to bleed those lines!!!! I had the same problem recently with an internal setup. If there is more than an inch of play in the clutch pedal after the clutch engages...it needs bleedin.

I have bled, bled, and re-bled, no more air at all....jeeps about to go swimming I think....JK, just can't figure htis thing out
