89' jeep idols rough hot, I need help
The winter months have just started to get here and first snow in Massachusetts makes it idol rough but only when it is hot. It is set to idol around 750 rpm and it does that when it is beginning to get hot, it idols at about 550 rpm when it rough idols. I adjusted the carb when it started to do this and it worked at first but it just did the same thing a week later. I need your ideas, I don't know how these computer controlled things work
Things I've done
-recent fuel filter
-checked spark (good spark)
-no apparent vacuum leaks
-full tune up within last year
89 jeep wrangler
4.2 I6, stock carburetor, AX15, NP231
Recent lift 3inch on 33s
Try making your idle mixture screws a bit richer 1/2 - 3/4 of a turn should help. If it makes it worse go back to where you were, then go in 1/2 a turn and see how it does.
i tried that today and it seems to be idling better, today was abnormaly warm so ill see how it does in the next weeks
