Can some post what color wires a 2000 tj has for the speakers. Which are posited and negative. Drivers side is what I did tonight. Front had. A green wire and a brown. Rear had 2 brown one with a tan stripe. I searched and could not find the color diagram

Are you replacing the speakers or the head unit?

Sorry., just replacing the speakers. Sooty for the confusion. Stock head unit

A quick easy way to check is to leave a little wire on the factory speaker so you can strip it back and use a 9v battery to pop the speaker (it won't damage them) if the speaker pops outward you have the positive wire hooked to the positive on the battery.

Do you use both wires and both terminals of the battery. Or do you use one wire at a time and touch the positive terminal of the battery

You'll use both, one wire to each terminal on the battery
