Suspension

Jk sport 2 door 33" with 2.5 body lift which makes no difference to me, what would be the best 3" or 4" on suspension, what brand and type? Any opinions? I mostly off read at sands but all week on road, i would like one day travel to rocks

Are you going to remove the 2.5'' BL and then install a 3''-4'' lift? And what size tire do you want to run?

Jaquinones3 12-15-2012 11:57 AM

For now imma keep my 33" i got my jeep with 2.5 bl but i see no difference compare to regular i want to keep it

kjeeper10 12-15-2012 12:37 PM

You plan to remove this BL thing right?

Ooh sorry.

There is no need. You can run 35 with 2.5-3"
37" minor trimming.
4" is enough to run 40's for Christ sake lol

should I remove 2.5 BL? Sry i just know a little bit about wranglers

Pics....?

People typically run no more than 1-1.25 of BL.
The Jk can fit a 33" stock so BL's are not as popular with the Jk.
Besides, the tires add clearance not the suspension, really is no need.

I would remove it.

cant send any pic right now im at work...

My wrangler came with it the 2.5" BL and new 33" so imma use 33 for a while i just wanted to add a suspension? but i dont know which one and if to remove 2.5" why remove it?

Jaquinones3 12-15-2012 01:49 PM

I want to eventually move to 35" wheels but not till im done with the 33"

4DoorCrush 12-15-2012 01:53 PM

I doubt you've got a 2.5" body lift.

Let's see some pics of where the frame meets the body, some pics of the coil springs (including any "hockey puck" type things you may see on top of them), and some pics of the shocks.

My expectation is that you in fact have a 2.5" suspension lift.

Jaquinones3 12-15-2012 03:43 PM

I will take some pictures later on but in the dealership it was 350 dollars more because a 2.5" lift sry at that time I new absolute nothing at all about jeeps, still am but not as much

kjeeper10 12-15-2012 04:13 PM

Ahh..

You probably have a spacer lift aka a budget boost :thumb:

That hurt to read...

"Imma" suggest that you read up on some suspension basics. Use the search function, it'll help - I took the liberty for you:

Roll through all that and you'll have a much better feel for how your Jeep operates and what you may want to do to it. Plenty of other topics on lift kits and modifying your Jeep as well. Welcome to the forum.
