Head Unit Issue

Ok, so I am a cheap guy and now regretting my choice to save money in the stereo on my 2013 Wrangler. My question for everyone is Should I get an RBZ for what looks like is about $500 when I see them or will $500 buy me a better after market head unit that has better or more features. The only option I dont care about having is GPS. I have been trying to do this research from my home in Germany but right now until they fix my internet (hopefully in 2 weeks I'm told) I only have 80Kbps worth of band with on a good day. So needless to say it's very slow going. Any and all help is appreciated!

$500 will get you a better aftermarket HU stand-alone, but you also have to account for the adapters. (Do you still want some of your steering wheel controls?)

Also, $500 is a lot for an RBZ. I paid $260 for mine (snipe!), and I usually see them for $360 shipped as a "Buy now" on e-bay. But maybe the price is different because your are in Germany? BTW, if you are in Germany, I'm not sure if the European version of the RBZ (it actually has a different code) works in an American JK (assuming you have an American JK).

Couple of questions first.
Do you have the Connectivity package?
Do you have the Alpine system?

If you don't have those options, go aftermarket.

I'm buying an american head unit for my US spec Wrangler. I would like to keep my steering wheel controls if possible.
I didn't get the connectivity package like I should have, I did get the Alpine speakers though with the subwoofer.

Aftermarket all the way.

I just put in a Pioneer AVH-X4500BT and the whole deal was $525 with everything through Crutchfield.

You'll want to go with the PAC RP4-CH11 for the integration harness and steering wheel controls.

My new head unit doesn't have GPS either. That was the one function I didn't care about either. Otherwise, this unit will handle lots of expansion options. You can step up to the 5500 if you prefer HD radion, but that's not something I care about so I passed.

X2 Crutchfield has many brands and will make sure you have everything you need.
