I have been reading this forum for the past several months as I have been mulling over my Jeep purchase and I just wanted to send out a general thank you to everyone who posts here and shares information and experiences. I cannot say how much this has helped me through the process of purchasing and modding my rig.
I grew up wheeling with my dad and have always had the bug, but have never been able to match up the funds, opportunity and timing until now. The pics beloe were taken in 1978... (I'm the kid in the CAT beanie).
Although I initially had my heart set on Billet, once I saw True Blue in person, there was no looking back. I got the JKUR, and within two weeks added the Rampage front bumper, XRC rear bumper and tire carrier, Ace rock rails, Warn VR8000 winch, AEV 2.5 Inch lift, Argent AEV Savegre wheels and 315/70/17 Duratracs. Reading (probably) thousands of posts on this forum helped me choose each mod, and in many cases, also helped me through install issues as they arose.
I absolutely love how everything has turned out, and, other than the coin neccesary to buy everything, I owe much of the results to this forum. Thanks! (the down side is that I'm now broke... lol). Here are some poser shots (including one with two of my kids that reminded me of the one taken with me and my dadf back in 1978):
Awesome. Now, you just need some snow. Enjoy, comrade!

Thanks for the compliments and encouragement!
Trapjaw... I debated pretty hard as to whether to get the black AEV wheels or the argent. Love how mine turned out, but yours looks great as well. Probably cant go wrong with either combination.

WOW! Good job with the research! your rig looks great and the time you spent on the forum was obviously value added. Way to do it right.

Thanks again. The best part is that the forum helped make fairly economic decisions. My neighbor (also a Jeeper) came by yesterday and gave a few compliments. He wanted to know how much I spent on the mods. His guess... $15K... lol... Not even close. Not even half of that.
I had originally considered the AEV build ($14K), but am so glad that I built it up myself with each part having to stand on its own merits and value proposition. Also enjoy the fact that very few rigs will be running with my exact set-up. I like being somewhat unique (even in a group of JKUR's running 35's, sliders, bumpers, etc.).

Jeep looks amazing! In the process now of ordering a True Blue JKUR as well (hashing out financials) and seeing yours made me feel comfy ordering the paint matched top with the black fenders. Great rig man!

Outstanding build :thumb:and it is great to see you continuing the life style with your kids. Maybe they will be posting these shots with their new rig in 15 years or so. Keep on Jeeping and keep the rubber side down :)

Thank you for sharing the story :)
P.S. The argent pintlers work really well with the unpainted fenders, while the black pintlers look great with the painted fenders. You both made the right choices :thumb:
