PC Gamers?

It has been a long time since I have had a PC for gaming. Back in college (2007) I had a decent build:
C2D E6300
EGVA 680 motherboard
EVGA 8800GTS 640
4gb RAM
And some other stuff.

I have been using a ThinkPad X200s on a docking station at home and work since 2009 when I dumped my PC because I did not want it anymore and sold it to my buddy.

So a month or so ago I made a wish list on Amazon. Ordered everything a few days ago, swapped some high end parts with lower stuff that will work just as good eg - 750w TX PSU to a Corsair 600...instead of an i7 I got an i5 for $100 cheaper. I saved a ton of money since I made the wish list. They are giving RAM away these days.

So I have this stuff coming:
256GB M4 SSD
660 GTX 2GB Graphics Card
AsRock Z77 Board
Intel i5 3570k Chip
16GB Corsair RAM (!!)
600w Corsair PSU
Cooler Master Case
Windows 8 64
27" Acer Monitor I just ordered for $200

I have Skyrim and BF3 coming too. I was obsessed with BF2 (Sniper, Sharqi) and Oblivion. Both amazing games in their day.

Any other gamers on here?

I've been pretty much PC only for a long time now. Last console I owned was a PS2. My PC at home is I think about 3 or 4 years old now but still plays most any game at max settings though i've upgraded the video card once about a year and a half ago. I currently have:

i7 920 @ 4GHz
2x AMD 6970s
3x 2GB Corsair Dominator GT 1600 ram
Intel X-25M 160GB ssd and a 1TB hhd
Enermax 1020w PSU
Cooler Master 690II Advanced case
HP ZR30w 30" monitor
Win7

I'd always gone with Nvidia/EVGA in the past but decided to go with AMD this go around. They haven't been too bad but there have been some hiccups that took them awhile to fix. I'll probably go back to Nvidia the next computer I build. But it'll probably be another 2 years before I really feel the need to upgrade.

I did buy a pretty sweet laptop though a few months back. Went with a:

Sager NP9170
i7 3720QM
GTX680m
16GB 1600 ram
3x Crucial 256GB M4 ssd + Crucial 256GB mSATA ssd

I mostly play single player shooters and RPGs. Only played one MMO in my life and after a few years I got burned out of it. None of the others i've tried tend to keep interested. Last games I was playing was Torchlight, Skyrim, Black Mesa and some occasional CS:GO.

Yep, PC gamer here. My son is the console gamer; I've just never gotten a feel for it.

I don't build them but hubby does, and will hopefully build my next one (but not until this one dies). Mine is 3 years old, from Dell:

XPS 435t/9000
i7 920 @ 2.67GHz
GTX 260 graphics card
6GB RAM
ViewSonic 27" monitor
Windows 7

Have mostly played MMO's (started with EverQuest over 10 years ago, then WoW, then Rift), and I'm currently playing Guild Wars 2 when time permits.

That laptop sounds sweet. Better than my build lol. What OS are you running? I have a 360 I use only for streaming music and proper console games like GTA and Dead or Alive.

Looking forward to Win8

Win7. I had an extra copy already so I bought the laptop with no OS.

PC gamer here. Completely addicted to EVE Online. Nothing real special as far as my laptop goes. Have a newer ASUS.

I used to be huge into PC gaming. About 3 years ago I parted out and sold my gaming rig. Now I'm looking to get back into it. Been researching and pricing it out for a little while now.

Huge PC guy here, although I do play some console games every now and then.

My system is a little old but still good though

Found pics of my old 2007 build. I wanted the most obnoxious case as possible lol:

...And which I swapped for a very nice ATX Lian-li:

For some reason I swapped again to a NZXT case. Not sure why I don't remember. No pics of that I don't think.

I like my case. Will probably reuse it for the next build and the one after that. Not too flashy but good quality.

Not my best cable management...I got lazy lol. But still good enough.

Only thing thats changed is my keyboard. Got a Ducky Shine mechanical keyboard now.
