Breather tubes

Been searching the forum on a write up on how to extend my breather tubes on my axles. I found how to do it but have no idea what size hoses or parts I need. I have a 04 TJ rubi by the way. Can someone please guide me in the right direction. Thanks :D

I did mine when it broke a month back. d30 front. got it out of a Cherokee in a junkyard hose was in good shape and 4" longer than my stock one. it only cost $2

You just put it over the old one and clamp it?

I just used the whole tube, connector and all. the tube was longer so I thought what the heck at worst I'm out $2. its still working.

Can't you just use vaccum how at the length you need, and move the valve head over from the old hose?

I used fuel line, brass barbed connectors, and s/s hose clamps to extend all of mine. I also added an aluminum vented recapture canister on my rear axle breather. I'm running a little over a quart of extra gear lube in the rear because of the high pinion angle. Should it heat up and expand it will only go as far as the overflow can (if it ever makes it that high).

Don't forget the tranny vent. There is NO hose extension on that one, so its pretty vunerable to water intake if you submerge the top of the tranny. There is a mod on here to pop the vent and add a hose to it. Pretty easy fix, did it last summer.
