Front Lower Shock Mount Rubbing at the LCA

Hello.

My lower front shock mounts rub at the LCAs. The shock could expand about 3-4" more without that rubbing.

Can I trim the lower shock mount and cut some metal away? I donīt have the money for new LCAs.

Hereīs a pic whre you can see what Iīm talking about.

Thanks!

That's the problem with too much lift on stock arms. Yeah you can trim it some, but odds are if you let it flex anymore you'll do one of three things. Either start eating thru bushings like candy, tear a mount off the axle, or crack the mount on the frame. None of which is really a fun thing to mess with.

Just leave them as they are right now and replace arms as you can.

Nico - new arm's are probably going to be needed in the rear as well if the rear arms are rubbing too. The one thing I like about my RE lower arms is that they are off-set on the axle end for that little extra clearance.

Mine are the Super-Flex though with the flex ball on the axle end.

i just spent about 2000$ for parts. now itīs time for some other things like a holiday with my girlfriend and the renovation of my apartment.

perhaps next spring iīll buy a set of 2 adj. TB and 8 adj. CAs. until then i have to use the stock parts...

I would keep an eye on the arms and mounts until then... don't want to tear anything and not be able to fix it.
