Any runs coming up the first of the year?

My kids and I can't wait to hit the trails again soon.

raythom3 01-01-2013 09:00 PM

Any place specific that you would like to go? I am always interested in trying a new trail.

Doesn't matter to us I've talked to my bud from boulder city he's down as well

702 War Machines is doing a local run Saturday to a place called Tie Rod. They will be teaching or training drivers and spotters. Sounds like fun but I am down for some maintenance time. Check out the site read the run and if you want show up at the meet. Most are not real hard core rock climbers but a really good bunch.

We did Rocky Gap New Years Day early and it is passive still a little snow in spots not an issue.

Tie Rod?

I'm interested but I can't easily find the thread on the Nevada area of wranglerforum.
Is it on a thread in a non-Nevada area, or on a different site?

We Could Make A Run...

No great local ideas here, either.

Someday I'm'a do Fleur de Lis Rd & Boiling Pot Rd that look like they go around a mountain north of Beatty. That's kind of far away so we're probably talking all day and I doubt if it's real "jeepy". I'm hoping for good sightseeing so I'm up for some exploring, blind leading the blind.

Better yet, does anybody know these roads and would like to share info or, better yet, guide me?

Any other ideas, especially Thursday or Friday?

It's not in jeep forum. Check out warmachines702.com. I'm a member but I can't make the run this Saturday. It's a good learning experience for anyone who is new to offroading/rock climbing.

How about McCullough Pass south of Boulder City off of the 95. We could meet at the Railroad Pass Casino at 8:30am again. Depending on timing, it looks like we could take a trail over the mountain one direction and come back a different trail ending up on the 95 again. Or continue on and go thru Beer Bottle Pass and take the 15 home from Jean.

Post up if anyone is interested.

I am not to keen on Tie Rod Canyon until I get a lift and taller tires, the description looks like it might be above my skill set just yet.

Hey Terry,

I am on the fence as far as Saturday goes, I had a couple things come up today that might affect me on Saturday. I will know for sure on Friday and will post a note if I am in for Saturday.

Stormeister 01-04-2013 09:02 AM

That's Fine

Also, Penny's itching to go rock hounding near Havasu Landing, so we're flexible.

Whenever we do finally go to Havasu Landing, after rock hounding for HOURS :nonono: in the wash near where the road gets close to the wash we plan to take the wash the rest of the way to the lake, then check out Havasu Landing, since I haven't been there since I was a boy.

It's not a real Jeepy trip, especially with the huge time out for rock hounding (agate), but if anyone's interested we could meet up.

Also, Ray, even for just a scouting trip, don't keep it a secret.:)

Ok, so I cleared the schedule and will be at Railroad Pass Casino at 8:30am Saturday 1-5-2013. Right now it looks like just you and me. I am down with McCullough Pass and then Beer Bottle Pass and on to Primm for some Lottery Tickets. I will post a new message on the Nevada Thread to see if we can get anymore interest.

We're new to Jeeps. Are there any local Jeep clubs accepting new members?

jokerchief462 01-13-2013 11:13 PM

If you have a Wrangler you can check out Desert Wranglers of Henderson NV.

jokerchief462 01-13-2013 11:16 PM

I see you are a proud YJ owner welcome to Vegas. If you hang out on this page we also post runs here kind of a loose group anybody can show and drive whatever.

Vegastattman 01-14-2013 11:12 AM

Sounds good thanks.

Xodius 01-28-2013 11:23 AM

There is also another group in the works. Should be able to make an announcement in the next month or so.
