4 door 08 JK Oil Pump and engine Knocking
 
I have been reading the forums for a while. I have found some very helpful things, I am hoping you guys can help.
I have 2 problems:
1. engine starting knocking a while back about a week or 2 ago, when i took it to the dealership and they told me that i need a new engine. The knocking is only coming from the Passager side of the valve cover, so i am thinking its a bad rocker or lifter. (have not had a chance to take off the cover)
2. oil pump went bad or broke all together. I had to have the wife tow me back home for 99 miles. (long trip when its about 6F outside and you cant run your engine due to it sound like pot and pans being slammed together.

I need some help, I am trying to find some info about the oil pump or a replacement pump but not having any luck.

knocking is usually a lower-end engine issue and not good news. The pots and pans description is probably a good sign you need a new engine. The 07-11 engines are known to consume oil. Knocking can be caused by running it low on oil, or by not circulating the oil (bad oil pump).

im going to try to drop the oil pan tomorrow after work.

finally had time to take off the pan. its a crankshaft bearing... from wat i can see no damage to anything else but frist i need to take out the engine.
