Glad you will be joining us.

Jeepin_Dad 01-07-2013 07:59 PM

If anyone is thinking of going I wouldn't wait to long before you sign up. Seven Trail Groups have already been filled and others are starting to fill up.

Jeepin_Dad 01-09-2013 08:54 PM

Once you select your group and submit your registration you will not have the opportunity to switch groups. If you have any questions about trail groups or trail levels please ask before you sign up. You can either ask me or you can email Chantelle at contact@toplessfortatas.com.

Who else from our Forum is going? Regardless of final groupings it would be nice to meet.

They have not announced any thing yet for this year, but last year both lunch and dinner was provided Quadratec had lunch catered and then the event organizers bought pizzas for dinner, I do not know if they are doing the same this year.

Zed what group are you in?

I know these people that are on WF are coming, add yourself to the list.

littlethimble - Trail Group 1
JK-o-lantern -TG 1
Jeepin_Dad - TG 11
Mike Gardner - TG 15

I think I saw a couple of guys from Virginia were also planning on coming up.

I want to sign up for this event but I was just wondering which group I should sign up for. I have a stock JKUR. I have done the 101 class at RC and green trail rides. Would the TG1 101/green/blue group be a good one to take. Not sure if the blues would be to much for a beginner?
Thanks

Julie

You would be definitely be fine in one of the 101 groups (TG1, 35A, 40) but if you have already taken the 101 class at Rausch you may want to try one of the regular Green (TG2) or Green/Blue (TG9, 11, 12, 14) Groups.

With a stock JKUR you will probably have some minor scraping on your skids and maybe the lower control arm and shock mounts on the Blue trails but if you listen to your trail guide you should not have any trouble getting through these trails.

If you want to try the blues I have a couple of other stock JKs signed up for my group (TG11) so we won't be doing anything to crazy and I'll be happy to spot you as much as you need.

Jeepin_Dad 02-19-2013 12:03 PM

I have had questions from a couple of people about if a stock JK/JKU can handle Blue trails. Here are a few videos from trips I have done with stockers in the group where we did mostly blues. Like I have said before you do need to expect some minor scraping but with some spotting a stock JK should be able to get through the blue trails without much problem.

These are the typical type trails I plan on running this year in my Green/Blue group. All the real rocky stuff in the first video had easier bypasses for the stock Jeeps, a lot of Rausch's trails are set up this way where there are multiple lines to choose from.

I do not mean to be JK exclusive, this is an all breeds event we even have some Toyotas signed up. I have also spotted XJs, YJs and TJs on 31s through the blues, even took an FJ Cruiser through some of the Blue/Black trails.

lulu2533 02-19-2013 12:31 PM

Thanks for the info, hope you have a few spots left in your group.

For what it's worth I regularly do greens and blues with a stock (lift and tires) 2012 JKU. I just have skids on my diffs and control arms and swapped the steps for rails. I scrape the skids but that's what they are there for. For the TaTa run I'll have a leveling kit on and sway bar discos.

Usually people's group choice has more to do with the driver's experience/confidence/comfort levels than it does with the Jeep's capability because these vehicles are very capable right off the show room floor.

This was posted on PR Director Dave's Facebook page, if you are on facebook and have not Liked his page you really should. If you are not on Facebook and have a tribute to to someone who lost their battle or a survivor story feel free to send it to me and I will forward it on to Dave.

Dave Morganthall at Topless for TATAs

Who's ready to have their eyeballs bombarded with lots of information regarding The Official Topless for TATA's Charity Wheeling Event??? I thought that might make your Monday a little less Mondayesque...so stay tuned, this week I will begin to roll out some little nuggets of awesomeness!! Also, I need to know what YOU want to know about Topless (aside from everything) so I know how to word my press releases.

Next, if you've lost someone to breast cancer, we need their names to add to our "Tributes on the Trails". (hope Chantelle at Topless for TATAs likes that name, I just thought of it...unless she thought of it first...) I am also personally doing something, with the help of Ca-moo, to help remember those who have lost the fight AND those who continue their fight!!

And then, last but NEVER least, I am still looking for "Survivor Stories". I have a few things in the works that need happy endings...

Please share with your friends so that we can continue spreading the word...today's word is TATAs, it will be the rest of the days' word too FYI :)

Jeepin_Dad 03-03-2013 06:33 PM

Another group filled up today, if you want to join this years event register soon.

Jeepin_Dad 03-04-2013 07:39 PM

Just a reminder of why we are doing this ride, my friend Herb posted this on PR director Dave Morganthall at Topless for TATAs facebook page a couple weeks ago.

"Last week Judi and I lost a dear friend to breast cancer. Susan Gumble waged a valiant 3 year battle with a positive attitude and spirit. She never gave up Hope. She was an inspiration for all who knew her. This years TATA ride, for us, will be dedicated to Susan. Rest in peace."

We also have several breast cancer surviors that will be joining us for the event.

Last year Topless for TATAs raised over $15,000 for breast cancer research.

Jeepin_Dad 03-05-2013 07:32 PM

All GREEN groups for the event are SOLD OUT! Very few GREEN/BLUE and BLUE slots are left. Make sure you sign up soon for your spot or you might not get in this year.
