Also ordered some 12" bilstein shocks for the front and back with the plan to outboard the rear shocks
Got some things done.
-installed engine skid
-mounted locker pumps to new tcase skid
-adjusted novak shifter
-got my new savvy bumper in the mail, painted and installed it
-repainted my upper half doors
-Decided to make another change with my rear suspension going with a midarm 4 link and collecting parts over the next month or so.

Looks good so far, nice job.

AngryTJ 01-02-2013 10:52 AM
Ordered parts to address the rear suspension and do a midarm 4 link rear:
TNT Truss
Ford shock towers
Lower control arm brackets
Frame side upper control arm brackets
Box-o-JJs and lower shock mounts
Currie rear antirock, front lower control arm skids, upper control arm mounts for the top of the truss and bilstein shocks are all in

AngryTJ 01-02-2013 10:54 AM

Before pics:
Got my superior front and rear shafts in
Started tear down
Cutting all the brackets off
Once all brackets were cut off and grinded down the build started to take place

AngryTJ 01-02-2013 10:55 AM
Upper mounts in place and cycling the suspension
built upper and lower arms

AngryTJ 01-02-2013 10:56 AM
Back on her own weight
Ready for paint
Off the shelf shock bracket

AngryTJ 01-02-2013 10:58 AM
Modified to provide more strength and length from axle tube for outboarding of shocks
Outboarding shocks and corrected spring perches
Improved ground clearance
Front axle sleeves came in
Got some Savvy Alum front control arms
Got the exhaust welded and installed. Painted it with high heat VHT flat black. the exhaust right after the skid
flexed it out. Shock body was hitting the frame and not allowing the shock shaft to travel properly. Had to make some relief cuts in the towers and bend them outward to get the shock about a 1/2in outward. Clears fine and everything got welded back and painted.

AngryTJ 01-02-2013 11:01 AM
installed rear antirock
Here are a few shots from my friends camera, I'll be loading mine up tonight
BFG hill went down then up

Ran a bunch of blacks and one red. Jeep did awesome rear suspension performed great and the rear antirock really helped the jeep feel controlled on off camber trails. Overall an awesome time :headbang:

Carnage report: A ton of scratches on my skids and sliders, bent a front lower control arm mount a little, the diffs made out with rocks on many occasions but other then that just dirty as helll and running great!!!

Decided to go with the Genright steel fenders with 4" flare and alum inner fender
the original lip from tube to the top of the fender
Welding the lip
Took a grinder to the welds
Got my first lesson on welding and ran a few beads...not bad for my first time I think
Bondo'd the tiny cracks and imperfections

AngryTJ 01-02-2013 11:21 AM
Caulked the underneath to prevent water and dirt from getting in there and causing it to rust
Prepped for paint
inner fenders
Painted inner fenders
primed fenders
edges came out great
painted fenders

Scored a Warn 9.5ti on ebay for an amazing price of $450 to my door! Doesnt come with the synthetic line pictured but does have a brand new steel line and fairlead just needs a new clutch lever
winch came in, also got some rokmen steel corners and aluminum strikers!
Put my hard doors on and took the rampage top off to throw the hardtop on for winter

AngryTJ 01-02-2013 11:23 AM

Starting a new job in a couple weeks, new year, and an epic west coast wheelin trip planned for June-ish Ive decided to pull the trigger and open up the wallet to get this jeep "finished"!
The following is either here, on its way, or will be ordered in the next week to get the ball rolling on big changes:
Genright EXT tank. 19g capacity and allowed 5in stretch
Genright stretched corners
Comes with a YJ style Gas filler to compensate for the stretch and still allow me to mount my stock flares.
Brand new Vanco 16" Big Brake Kit from a forum member. Spoke with Blaine who said the 16" kit will fit my 15" racelines since they have 3.25" backspacing I just have to be careful where the sticky weights are.
Poly Front half cage
Will be doing my own rear half additions
Rokmen Fairlead
Amsteel 3/8" x 80' orange winchline with black safety thimble
Daves Customs Unlimited Shock Towers
Two 2" Coreau 4pt harness'
Planning to run a shoulder bar using bushings at the ends to allow for it to be removable when the backseat is needed.
Its time! :D Hobart 140
Moabs x5
Falken Rocky Mountain AT x 4 (285/75/16) Going to be using these as a street tire
The cage will be going in first toward the end of January then surgery on the rear to allow for 5in stretch will start in February.
Im planning to do something very similar to what a friend tried originally when he stretched.

And now your up to date! Hope you enjoy it from here on out
